Only few fruits have fascinated people of the most varied cultures as much as the banana. The most consumed fresh fruit in the world, it is also a symbol of the globalized world. The exhibition sets the varied information on the banana in a new context and puts it up for discussion. The relationship between economy, politics and culture as well as the consequences of production for the environment and society are looked into. An overarching section of the exhibition is dedicated to diverse artistic positions and associated reflections on exoticism, symbolism and everyday culture.
